The British Heart Foundation Centre on Population Approaches for Non-Communicable Disease Prevention
The British Heart Foundation Centre on Population Approaches for Non-Communicable Disease Prevention is part of the Nuffield Department of Population Health of the University of Oxford and is core-funded by the British Heart Foundation.
The overall aim for the Centre is to carry out research of the highest methodological quality that has the greatest possible influence on public health policy and practice, as it relates to population approaches for the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) i.e. cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The Centre’s research has three themes:
1. The burden of NCDs
2. The primary prevention of NCDs3. The relationship between NCD prevention and environmental sustainability
